When looking for a pro bono project, I try to be less concerned about whether the substantive area of law is the area in which I practice and instead focus on whether the skills I possess generally, or my passion about an issue, will enable me to be of service to the client. In all of my cases I felt I was the one who benefited. I learned about creative ways in which organizations address the many problems they are confronted with and how, with relatively little, they have such a widespread and significant impact in the lives of the people they serve.
