DLA Piper Foundation
The DLA Piper Foundation began operating on May 1, 2006, replacing the pre-existing Gray Cary Foundation. The Foundation was developed to more strategically focus DLA Piper’s substantial charitable giving on DLA Piper’s pro bono initiatives. The Foundation is allocated funding by the firm, which is supplemented with donations from individual attorneys. Partners of the firm can request that grants be made to 501(c)(3) organizations throughout the country. As of now, the DLA Piper Foundation does not accept funding requests from outside the firm.
The Foundation’s priorities are to promote the pro bono work our attorneys do in each city in which DLA Piper has an office and to promote larger pro bono initiatives such as our domestic Signature Projects and our international New Perimeter projects.
DLA Piper believes strongly in giving back to each community in which we operate, through both Foundation funding and our extensive pro bono work. In addition, through New Perimeter, DLA Piper lawyers are conducting pro bono projects designed to address some of the world’s most pressing problems such as hunger, climate change, human rights, and the development of post-conflict democracies. The DLA Piper Foundation supplements the already substantial pro bono work that our attorneys are doing throughout the country and the world.
